By Vanessa

The start of winter marks truffle season in Victoria – now is the time to treat your taste buds to the unique earthy, aromatic flavours of black truffles. And to celebrate Victoria’s truffle season, Marlene Hoff of The Mornington Peninsula’s 100 Mile Foodie is hosting a fabulous experience on Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

The Mornington Express Wine & Dine Train was a sellout event as part of this year’s Melbourne Food and Wine Festival – so don’t miss this second event which heads to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula!

Come aboard on Saturday, 9 June at Moorooduc Railway Station (train departs at 12.30pm) and enjoy a leisurely journey to Mornington, sampling the Peninsula’s top drops, selected exclusively by 100 Mile Foodie’s local wine expert.Truffles will also be highlighted throughout the menu, which starts with tantalising canapes on the platform.

During the leisurely journey, guests will also enjoy views of the Peninsula’s most popular tourist attractions, its century-old wooden carriages and buildings. 100 Mile Foodie’s experts will also be available to chat and discuss the produce on offer throughout the trip.On return to Moorooduc Station (arrival expected at 3.30pm), guests will be served a delicious dessert to conclude the culinary adventure. “I’m thrilled to be able to combine the Peninsula’s best wines and a stunning menu featuring such unique produce as part of this year’s Truffle Melbourne festival,” Marlene said.
