More 100 mile foodie events released: Join us for Mother’s Day and our Winter Wine and Truffle Train

I’m delighted to announce my latest event after our highly successful Melbourne Food and Wine Festival event. I’ll be hosting the first ever running of the Mornington Peninsula Winter Wine and Truffle Train, running from Moorooduc Station on Saturday, June 9 as part of the Queen’s Birthday long weekend and the 2018 Truffle Melbourne Festival.

The Mornington Peninsula is home to some of the finest wines in the country so it’s only natural to combine them with such an iconic ingredient aboard our Winter Wine and Truffle Train.

Guests will be invited to sample an array of the Peninsula’s top drops, selected exclusively by 100 Mile Foodie’s local wine expert. Truffles will be highlighted throughout the menu, which starts with canapes on the platform. Soon it will be time to board the Mornington Peninsula Winter Wine and Truffle Train for the main course.

On return to Moorooduc Station after a leisurely journey to Mornington, guests will be served dessert against the backdrop of one of the Peninsula’s most popular tourist attractions, it’s century-old wooden carriages and buildings. Our experts will also be available to chat and discuss the wine and produce on offer throughout the day.

• I’m also thrilled to confirm our Mother’s Day celebration with a beautiful lunch at the gorgeous Hillock Downs property in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula. I’ll once again celebrate local food by creating a seasonal menu using local produce sourced from surrounding farms especially for the event.

Starting with bubbles from Crittenden Estate, a selection of Pinot grigio and Pinot Noir from local wineries will be enjoyed throughout the lunch. Treat yourself to this special lunch in beautiful surroundings or bring along your Mum or a friend to share it with you. I look forward to seeing you at this special event at the beautiful property of Sally & Eddie Matt.
