A partnership between Oskar & Marlene was created over a common bond of sourcing local, his was ingredients to make beer, mine food for my business, 100 Mile Foodie.

In February 2019 Oskar & Marlene created a Masterclass using the best beef on the Mornington Peninsula & the best wheat from a local Mornington Peninsula farm, Tuerong Farm.

Oskar grew his own hops at home, added other ingredients, which you will learn about today, plus local wheat/spelt from Tuerong Farm, from that his different styles of brewing created which resulted in different flavours, different beers

I have only one variety of hop, mine is Pride of Ringwood, Victoria Bitter can’t get more Australian than that! THE RECIPE FOR VICTORIA BITTER HAS CHANGED VERY LITTLE SINCE ITS CREATION BOASTING AUSTRALIAN PALE MALT WITH ICONIC ‘PRIDE OF RINGWOOD’ HOPS, GROWN IN VICTORIA AND TASMANIA.

It’s exciting to grow the hops in your own backyard, harvest then create a unique beer to your taste, ours will be called 100 Mile Foodie Ale. It has been a collaborative effort growing, nurturing, harvesting & brewing, all within 100 Miles of the business which fits perfect with our ethos.
