Food for a Good Mood
2 November @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (World Health Organisation, 1948).
In addition to regular physical activity, healthy sleep habits (and other factors), good nutrition can have fantastic benefits for not only our physical health, but our mental health too!
Come along to our ‘Food for a Good Mood’ workshop and hear from Accredited Practising Dietitian, Alexandra Baker, about the link between diet and mental health. Learn about the Mediterranean Dietary Pattern and how it’s associated with that good mood. We will focus on practical strategies to make eating for good health easier and discuss ways to incorporate these nutritious foods into your meals and snacks each day as part of a healthy lifestyle.
To conclude the workshop, we will prepare and enjoy nutritious recipes that highlight our mood-boosting foods. The Roast Veggie Salad, Sesame greens and ‘Not Your Typical Fruit Crumble’ are sure to be winners that you can recreate at home. We also get to enjoy the wonderful mood-boosting effects of social interaction by sharing a meal together so join us for what is sure to be an enjoyable (and tasty) day.
