Hidden secrets of the Dandenong market & surrounds

LOCATION: 100 mile foodie 24 Chesterfield road Somerville 3912

A busy and bustling market full of sights and delights, Dandenong Market offers a taste for every season and a treasure in every stall.

At Dandenong Market you can shop and experience the world as a local and get insider tips from expert traders, score amazing bargains and source seasonal produce that’s fresh all year round.

I have been visiting the Dandenong market & surrounding International shops for many years purchasing amazing spices, boreck pastry, rose water, orange blossom water, nuts, dried fruit and so on, there is really no where else in Melbourne that offers so many exciting cultural food choices in such close proximity.

We will have coffee and a piece of the best Lebanese Baklava at A1 Bakery to start the day then off to the market to introduce you to the amazing stall holders & their freshest produce straight from the farm in lcuding a stall from Tyabb on the Mornington Peninsula.

Dandy Mart across the road from the market is full of Middle Eastern ingredients that will blow your mind, think bulger wheat, rose water, dates, red pepper paste and 1000's more amazing ingredients you won't want to leave!

Mid-morning is time for the markets best gozleme from the Dough ladies which can be enjoyed in the food square whilst watching the world go by.

On the way home we will visit Hindustan to purchase nuts, spices & dried fruit in any amount you like and I think the cheapest in Melbourne.
